The CHANGES Project is an attempt to foster greater social integration of elderly people into the mainstream folds of our society. As such, the Project aims to understand the specific and diverse needs of the elderly population within the local communities of San Francisco in order to facilitate specialized programs for their inclusion.
To do so, the Project has adopted a contextualized approach by conducting local surveys so as to assess the emotional requirements of the elderly population in the area. The Project strives to create local networks that could address their social needs by providing them with opportunities for relaxation, recreation, and the development of newer hobbies and habits. Additionally, the Project also aims to develop original open-access resources to raise awareness about preventative measures against the physical and mental ailments that affect elderly people in order to improve their holistic well-being.
